This jigsaw puzzle is going on 20 years old now. In the early 2000s, Buffalo Games, Inc., as part of their 1000pc Signature Series, created several puzzle re-creations of Norman Rockwell's famous Saturday Evening Post covers. This puzzle was his "Bottom of the Sixth" illustration/cover, from the April 23, 1949, issue of The Saturday Evening Post (sure enough, if you look at their issue archive online, you'll see it, partial screenshot shown in photo 10). Photo 9 is an old ad from Buffalo Games showing some of the other Rockwell puzzles.
***NOTE: Puzzle is missing ONE piece.*** There should be 1026 pieces, but there are 1025, I counted them personally. The box is a little beat up, but sturdy.
BGI described the puzzle as follows:
Bottom of the Sixth
As the umpires contemplate the game’s future, the losing manager happily points to the sky, knowing that this one won’t count.
