For many, Norman Rockwell is Christmas. He started painting holiday themes very early in his career and delighted Americans with his festive covers and illustrations throughout the twentieth century. He was just 19 when he painted a Santa Claus that appeared on the cover of Boy's Life in 1913. The way he illustrated Santa through the years helped to establish the old gent as a gleeful, jolly fellow.
Norman Rockwell's early popularity as an illustrator meant that many companies wanted the storyteller to Illustrate their products, sometimes with a Santa. This bobblehead is based on a Norman Rockwell painting commissioned by a soft drink company in the mid-twentieth century. It shows the delight Santa feels when the tables are turned and a soft drink is left tor him to enjoy after delivering presents on Christmas Eve.
