Only alteration done to the dress was to make the straps even (it arrived slightly uneven). I am 5’9”and the dress was the perfect length for me with a 1” heel. The dress length was never hemmed shorter from its original length so essentially the same size as it was new. I usually run a size 4 but got this dress in a size 8 as they run small. It was professionally dry cleaned- however some faint spots on the train that was on the floor remain. Still a beautiful dress- not too noticeable.
