Not an inch of this belt has not been designed; the sturdy links are decoratively carved. —btw, the links easily slid to “right side up” I’ll take a new photo. I was worried but have good news, it’s not about twisting the thing around, you bring the 2 belt pieces close together & the link piece slides up around and back down on its own, and voila it’s right side up again.
