Masao Oishi, a key figure in Japanese denim, gained prominence at Levi's Japan and played a role in the first Japanese jeans brand, Canton Jeans, in the '60s. Oishi-San's extensive experience shaped his expertise in fits, fabrics, shuttle looms, and indigo. Establishing ONI, he captured global denim enthusiasts with its captivating slubby textures, irregular weave, gentle tension, and impeccable finishes. Oishi-san unveils a groundbreaking Indigo x Black fabric, born from his original 14oz creation, redefining denim with slubby denim to prominence. Crafted from short staple American cotton on a specialized power loom, it undergoes numerous indigo and black sulfur dye baths, accentuated by tonal stitching, black copper hardware, and a vibrant pink selvedge line. These jeans, based on the 246 neat straight cut, boast premium details like custom cowhide leather patches and black copper buttons, designed for distinctive fades over time.
