This spectacular coat dress by Obioma is made in Nigeria from fabric sourced by Da Viva. I have never seen anything like it! As you can see, the pattern and colors of the fabric are magnificent. The smooth texture of the fabric is soft and supple, and the coat is fully lined in an equally soft fabric. The two large shiny black buttons add an extra shine. The coat is open for the last 31 inches below the lowest button. There are two faux pocket flaps for style. The craftsmanship on this coat is impeccable!
From the Obioma website: "Designed in America and produced in Nigeria, Obioma blends African and Western fashion effortlessly. At Obioma, our customizable pieces are all ethically sourced by the Fair Trade Act. We aspire to deliver beautiful prints and silhouettes. For every type of event, Obioma provides you an option. The term "Obioma" was coined from the indigenous Igbo group of eastern Nigeria after the Biafran Civil War that lasted from 1967 to 1970. After a devastating loss, the Igbo people carried sewing machines on top of their heads and would walk mending clothes to make a living." (abbreviated for length)
Measurements: Length: 50"; Width: 20" measured flat across underarms; Waist: 14.5" measured flat; Sleeves: 23"
Fabric: There is not a fabric tag, but the Da Viva Fabric Store states "premium cotton fabric" on their site, so I'm assuming premium cotton. It sure feels that way.
