Old Fulani Nigeria white agate beads

Please see pics for details. These are old, found in Nigeria through the Fulani people, possibly traded from Asia to get there. The bead sizes range, but this strand has quality big ones and will stand up to any other strand you find. Truly beautiful and rare! The Fulani people populate lands from Ghana to Nigeria in West Africa. They are some of the first tribes to convert to Islam and are accredited with helping Islam spread through Africa. They are a semi-nomadic tribe. Unsure of their start, some say Northern Africa moving south as the Sahara turned to desert or ancient Egypt. For them, beads are adornment, status and currency to trade. This strand is superb quality compared to others I have seen in trade bead circles. Many beautiful pieces of jewelry have been made with these agates by taking a strand apart, but this one has a mighty presence as is. A beautiful addition to any collection.
