Oovoo has sadly closed its doors, but the company left behind the most beautifully crafted bags to grace an upscale boutique. This bag is one of their largest, and finest. It's crafted of rich black suede, with green silk and colorful embroidery in a classic corset shape. The color is a bit greener than the photos show . . . a rich olive. This bag has never been carried, and has only been used as background in one short film scene. It's in mint condition, inside and out. You won't find another!

Can't bear to use them, since they cannot be replaced. I'm funny that way ... I don't carry my Prada Fairy Bag, either! I need to work on that!

onceuponathyme @grisame My mother got me a little phone carrier that was such a gorgeous tiny little thing~ that's what got me started. I bought, but never carried, a few of their larger purses. I have a wardrobe full of gorgeous bags I've never carried - or only carried once. I get nervous when my bag is more expenisve than what's inside it. Isn't that silly? But there you go... too afraid of being caught in the rain with my Fairy Bag to take it out of the house! hahahaha I keep looking to see if these makers are doing something else wonderful, but ... I think they may have ACTUALLY retired. If you hear anything, let me know!

onceuponathyme @grisame Bahahahaha . . . dueling photos sounds like a LOT of fun. :-) I have a Prada Fairy and a Valentino red suede Bow Bag that I have literally been out of the house with ONE time each. I kept the dust bags INSIDE the bags, and put my other stuff INSIDE the dustbag, because I didn't want to mess up the inside, and I thought if it rained or I had to sit the bags down I could put them inside the dustbag for protection. How ridiculous is that? And STILL I don't want to let them go! I mean, I can always get them out of the dust bag and look at them at home! @iknowclothes Does this sound familiar, Trista? :-) @susanleeyogi Now you know the rest of the story ... as if you didn't already. onceuponathyme @susanleeyogi I know, Nancy is amazing. I do a lot of sewing - costumers do that, too .... :-) In fact, I've done something CRAZY. You'll like this, @mangrami! I just bought a WWII white silk parachute. I want to try to make my own white parachute dress out of the actual parachute. I read a blog post where a girl had done that - long before AS - for her confirmation dress. I got inspired. I may want to kill myself before it's done, though. I wish we could all get together - with @iknowclothes to eg us on - and Nan and I could pin, clip, cut, and stitch to my manikin, and the rest could help, comment, and mix margaritas . . . Now - if I can talk you all into going to Maui in July I'll bring the Parachute and we'll have a project! :-D

onceuponathyme hahahahaha Did you look at it? The story of the little gal using one back in the 50's gave me the idea, but then when I SAW the parachute - the flat end (last photo) looks like the top of the front bodice to me. Of course, when I have 12 feet of round parachute spread out on top of - what? my 2000 SF of closet mess? My newly created photoshoot Living Room Mess? My perpetual bedroom mess? Hahahaha I'm going to have to do this outside !!!!! hahahaha - when it's all spread out I may be so overwhelmed I'm unable to move at all. Love the Scarlett reference. Wouldn't it be fun as a group project? But I love the "hinky" cotton ropes and how they're so heavily stitched in. And I HOPE it's silk - rather than a fine nylon. Mostly because if it's silk I can DYE it! I'm just dreaming of tubs of dye in my back yard surrounding the trampoline . . . I hang things from the trampoline cover, wherever I need them to be to hang into the dye bins at the level I want them to be dyed. It's such great fun. I know you say you can't go, @susanleeyogi, but ... maybe we can plan a trek up to SF in the near future. I'l send my hubby on a golf expedition! May is great - my kids are gone nearly all month. @mangrami, to tempt you further, I'll turn you loose in my closet . . . ;-)
