pralinequeen My Husky is a rescue I took him when nobody else would. He was a mean dog, I new he would be ok if he just got enough love.

windairbreez @pralinequeen Yup no such thing as a naturally mean dog if they are there is a reason. You get them to trust they are all yours. It takes time, patients, understanding, and Lots of LOOOVE. Sometimes a whole lot of all of that and more. Sometimes years of all that and more.

owlsandellies Thanks for loving my baby girl, Bixie! Jackson is her brother, he's a good boy! I just filled out an application to volunteer at my city's kennel. They rarely have to put any dogs down. I'm hoping to help find homes for as many as possible. 😍💕🐶

windairbreez @ltcwheatex That is fantastic!!!! We could not do what we do without our wonderful, dedicated volunteers. Im humbled and blessed to have each and every one. We save so many lives because of them!!! From the actual heartbreaking rescue to the final adoption into their forever home, and all the ups and downs in between, they are working with use just as tirelessly for each and every life. owlsandellies @windairbreez Don't thank me yet.😖I'm a wuss and will not be able to handle it if any dogs or cats have to be put down. I don't know what I'd do. So we'll see how it goes. What do you do for these animals?

windairbreez @ltcwheatex Think of it this way. Its not about you its about them. If we l feel bad or sad think how they feel. What we might go through is nothing compared to them. So if you make it about them and not you youll be get through the hard times. Dont be afraid to hurt for them they deserve to be grieved for, they are worth it. When we finding things to be intolerable thats the time to stand and fight for change thats the time voices are needed the most.

windairbreez @ltcwheatex You can still be strong and hurt if we hide from being hurt they suffer more and nothing changes. Hope this might help give some perspective its the talk I give myself when Im curled up at home balling my eyes out because I wasnt able to save someone or we lost an old guy we all loved so much. We are a No Kill looking and working toward the day we are a No Kill Nation. Hope I didnt just upset you, not my intention, I know how hard it can be.😊

eriley755 Our german shep just died feb 18th. I've been broken since then :'( it was a horrible death, and so sudden. I have said this a million times since she passed, but this gives new perspective. We rescue cats (5 cats 1 dog right now total) and it hurts to think i will have to go thru this 6 more times :'( ty for the thoughtful post
