Openwork and Filigree Cap on Long Double Strand Textured Chain

I love selling this type of vintage necklace. Since it was well made, usually plated multiple times and had unique design. The gold plating is still in excellent condition. It closes with its original spring clasp closure. There are no makers marks. This metal necklace is circa 1960 and made by a high end costume jewelry maker of the time. The first half of the 20th century was the heyday for well made costume jewelry sold from fine department stores to Woolworth, usually made in Europe or the United States. The manufacture and quality of costume jewelry deteriorated in the latter part of the century making this era the last with enduring products.
