Orange Peel dried & cut

This dried orange peel has a very long shelf life and can be used in cakes and cookies. I dry oranges most of the year to add to my potpourri and I also dry the peel. It can be stored for a very long time and it takes much less of the peel in a recipe than the zest. The peel is much stronger. I mostly use it in soaps, sachets, bath bags and potpourri. it has a tangy and sweet taste. Older folks use to chew on orange peels when they thought they were getting sick with cold or flu. I like to use when making mulled cider at Christmas time.I also like to simmer in some water on the stove with other spices or you can even put it in the microwave for an air freshener for your home. Many uses check online for making cleaning sprays and scrubs with orange peels. These were dried approx. 3 months ago in dehydrators. They will be good for at least 3 years if kept away from moisture and sealed up. You can also freeze them.
