This is a nude figure study, acrylic on canvas, evoking the female form and its inherent "danger." It is inspired by the famous and oft incorrectly invoked quote by United States Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart in 1964 to describe his threshold test for obscenity in Jacobellis v. Ohio:
"I shall not today attempt further to define the kinds of material I understand to be embraced within that shorthand description ["hard-core pornography"], and perhaps I could never succeed in intelligibly doing so. But I know it when I see it..."
- Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart
This is an original acrylic on canvas.
