During the second World War, in 1943, the U.S. 1st Ranger Battalion landed east of Oran Africa and captured the shore battery at Arzew. This is a trench art ring which were usually made by the soldiers or engraved by the soldiers. The rings from Oran were typically made by the locals and given to the troops as a gift for their service. The ring is in excellent condition but does not have any hallmarks. The engraving reads "Oran Africa 1943." The ring weights 12 grams and is size 9.
