Oyster Footed Trinket Box, Peach-Red Shell & French Postcard Decoupage

lolipaper Oyster Trinket Box created with a natural whole Pacific Oyster. The outside shell is hand colored in pearlescent peach-red. Inside, it is paper decoupaged with a charming French bird and florals, and rimmed with gold paint. This Oyster Shell Box can hold small jewelry, trinkets, or precious keepsakes. Thanks to its stand, it will not topple over, even when filled with your little treasures. It will make a stylish functional ornament for your home, or a unique handmade gift to mark a special occasion. Size... The bottom cup is about 5" long, 3" wide, and 1" at the deepest point. The lid is slightly concaved. Altogether, the shell box stands about 2 3/4" tall at the tail end. Process… The empty shell was scrubbed, sanitized, and colored to highlight its unique features. Paper decoupage was then applied inside, and the shell rim was hand painted in gold. A glass marble knob and a plastic stand were glued in place next, before sealing the shell inside and out with 3 coats of acrylic varnish for top protection and a nice luster. Photos were taken in natural light. Care… You may wipe it clean with a damp cloth. **This item is not suitable for wet foods or young children.
