Oyster Footed Trinket Box, Purple Tie-Dye Shell & Roses Decoupage, Jewelry Box

Oyster Trinket Box created with a natural whole Pacific Oyster. The outside shell is hand colored in pearlescent purple, blue, and pink in a tie-dye pattern. Inside, it is paper decoupaged with purple and pink roses, and rimmed with Silver paint. This Oyster Shell Box can hold small jewelry, trinkets, or precious keepsakes. Thanks to its stand, it will not topple over, even when filled with your little treasures. It will make a stylish functional ornament for your home, or a unique gift to mark a special occasion. The world is your Oyster! Size...The bottom cup is about 5" long, 2 3/4" wide, and 1" at the deepest point. The lid is flat. Altogether, the shell box stands about 2 1/4" tall (lid knob included). Process… The empty shell was scrubbed, sanitized, and colored to highlight its unique features. Paper decoupage was then applied inside, and the shell rim was hand painted in silver. A glass marble knob and a plastic stand were glued in place next, before sealing the shell inside and out with 3 coats of acrylic varnish for top protection and a beautiful luster.
