A beautiful piece from one of my most favorite designers! Vintage from the 1988 Spring runway collection, this 100% cotton pique halter dress was part of Patrick Kelly’s runway show in Paris. The textured fabric has a beautiful drape and hardly wrinkles!
Drop waist style with two layers of fun and flirty ruffles.
In wonderful condition. The only issue is that some of the elastic around the bodice as worked it’s way out of the seam. It still functions though and is pictured. This elastic goes all around the top bodice and does help the dress stay up but with the halter style, you are not in danger of any fashion accidents.
Patrick Kelly was born and grew up in Mississippi (my home state!) and moved to Paris where he created his label. Patrick Kelly was the first American member of the Chambre syndicale du prêt-à-porter, the prestigious governing body of the French ready-to-wear industry. Patrick’s designs are known for their wittiness and exuberance. I often think of how different the fashion industry would be today if he had not passed away so young in 1990.
It measures 15.5” across the bust with some stretch. The length is 38.5”.
