@tbarnwell15 Here is a general guideline for what a reasonable offer is. I am trying to help you out as offering a seller 50% less than their offer will probably get you blocked and ignored. Also the products you wanted are SOOO deeply discounted already, and that is another factor to look at. Hope this helps you.

@brittneyotis Since this behavior seems to be a pattern, let me help you out a bit. “Offering” someone 16% of the item prices for a bundle is COMPLETELY unacceptable. My closet isn’t a garage sale, perhaps you were confused?? Thank you for the great example of “unacceptable” offers; I’ll be sure to include this to warn others.

@elclosetdeal So, I hope this chart makes sense of why it is rude and inappropriate to offer $18 for a $50 item that is actually NEW with tags and retails for over $150. Sorry, no thank you! I price items fairly *upfront*...maybe you should try Goodwill or a yard sale - and when you do try to offer them 10-15% of the price on the tag. Good luck! Another example of UNREASONABLE “offers”

@bethejoy thank u. I took a screenshot of the chart so I can reference it in the future. I really appreciate your help!!

@hddragun Offering” 50% off a offer you were sent on a NIB item that retails for over $50 and is sold out is extremely rude and tacky. Lowballing isn’t respectful to sellers. Would you have made that offer at any store in person? No - they would show you the door. This chart is a general guideline of a reasonable offers for your future on Poshmark.

Good morning.....AND I love this chart! Actually, I thought I read somewhere that Poshmark has a rule against "low-balling" but I don't even know how to go about reporting somebody for it. It happens all the time....mostly by people who are not selling, so they really just don't get it. Have a great day!
bethejoy
@avonsandysells Sadly you cannot report someone for lowballing. It kills me because as a seller I work hard to be active on Posh, help people, and I price my items at a significant discount upfront. It’s like the drunk person at the bar that hits on EVERYONE- someone eventually says yes 🤢 it’s just a #’s game....
bethejoy
@avonsandysells ...My rule is even on a environmental where negotiations are implied - ie buying a car, jewelry, etc you wouldn’t show up with cash and offer $15K on a $30K item...or $5 on a $20 item! That’s not an opening bid - I wish there was a minimum bid allowed for a price...
bethejoy
@avonsandysells And I will tell you from experience it doesn’t mater how nice you say it, show them the chart and Posh keeps 20% - they don’t care. I just have been declining vs countering and blocking the person. I will not get wrinkles from Poshmark!!

@bethejoy may I repost this? It hits the nail on the head on so many levels.. maybe a visual will do some good.. help...
bethejoy
@callieslilalley Yes on my end - the original Posher that shared the chart with me is listed. Please ask them as well since I got permission to post from them. 💜 Bella

@bethejoy is it cool if I post this to my closet? As I mentioned it is genius, and gives a customers a real visual of what is right and oh so not right
callieslilalley
Sorry, hit your name again.. not enough coffee in me yet

@esthimom23 Hi there - so I know you’re newer to Posh I decided to counter your offer and send you this useful reference chart as a guide for going forward. If you offer me $5 and I accept, I earn $2. Does that seem fair? It’s not worth the packing time, materials, tissue, tape, etc. I would donate the item instead. We all like to get great deals - I shop on Posh too. But a “deal” had to be reasonable for both parties.
esthimom23
@bethejoy sorry...
kandimandi
Thanks, this is very informative.
bethejoy
@kandimandi You’re welcome!
kandimandi
Hi, guess what came today?
bethejoy
@kandimandi A lowball offer?
kandimandi
Fake, Fake, Fake!
bethejoy
@kandimandi Are you talking about a counterfeit (fake) item I posted a warning about? If so you should report it to Poshmark immediately and initiate a return.
kandimandi
I am, and immediately opened a case yesterday.
kandimandi
Thanks for looking out for us!
bethejoy
@kandimandi You’re welcome :) I am glad you caught it and able to do a return. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

@hayleyharris90 This is a chart of reasonable offers - lowball offers are ignored by most sellers and will also get declined.
