Stunning handwoven spiral basket by unknown weaver from Wounaan and Embera Indians of the Rainforests of Panama. Chunga palm leaves become "threads" that are first dried, then dyed. Coils are from nahuala fibers. Over a period of months, the indigenous peoples create these one of a kind baskets.
This basket is 7½" high and 10" in diameter. Its large size makes it ideal to display on a shelf or as wall decor. What a thoughtful gift for a basket collector! No loose or broken fibers.
