This beautiful vintage Paragon Double Warrant fine bone china set is handcrafted in England between 1939 and 1949. It is beige and off-white in color. Both pieces are marked on the underside bases with the two Paragon crown stamps and the words, "PARAGON BY APPOINTMENT TO H. M. THE QUEEN & H. M. QUEEN MARY FINE BONE CHINA ENGLAND REG'D.". The saucer is also marked with a group of hand-written numbers in red.
This set is in very good vintage condition without chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs. Both pieces ping well when tapped. The cup has some scratches, mostly located inside, some gold wear on the handle and foot, and a small (1/8") scuff with the color loss (shown in the red circle). The saucer has some wear to the gold trim around the center, some scratches from normal use, mostly located on the white center, and a small (1/8") scuff (shown in the blue circle).
The round saucer flares upwards slightly from a smaller round base, with a top diameter of 5-1/2" and an underside base diameter of about 2-3/4". The cup itself is 2-1/8" in height, with a top opening diameter of around 3-7/8" and about 1-7/8" for the base; the greatest width from the outside of the curved handle to the opposite side is 4-7/8".
The items will be shipped securely wrapped with bubble wrap, packed in a box enclosed within another larger box. Please refer to the photos, they were taken by me and show the actual cup and saucer available for purchase.
