Could you try to wipe off mark on front with a leather cleaner? You can test the spot kn the back to make sure it won’t stain the leather. Their website says white chalk should remove stains. But if it doesn’t, they say to use leather cleaner. You can read it. The link is at the bottom of their main page. Could you do that?
