This is a handstrung pearl necklace I bought in Vietnam, from fishermen who paddled up to the ship I was sailing on at Halong Bay. The string of pearls measure 17 inches, plus another 1/2 inch for the clasp and hook. I only wore it one or two times so it is much like it was when I bought it, about 20 years ago.
