Tumbled natural peridot and rosy cultured pearls are the stars of this Peridot Pearl necklace. All of this natural beauty is hand strung with care on gossamer sterling silver chain. All finishes and findings are solid sterling silver, as is fitting for such rare beauty. In the Hawaiian Islands, peridot was thought to be the tears of Goddess Pele. Even Cleopatra felt these stone kept dark spirits at bay. Peridot is the stone of inner peace and harmony, and it is the birthstone for the month of August. Pearls are the traditional birthstone for the month of June, and the traditional gift for the 30th wedding anniversary. In many cultures, pearls symbolize purity of spirit and wisdom gained over time, like the layers of nacre that create this natural gem. This peridot pearl strand measures approximately 18 inches long including the finishing clasp. This necklace - from start to finish - was made at my workbench. The ingredients are natural tumbled peridot gemstones and cultured rose pearls. All metal elements included in this piece are solid sterling silver (absolutely NO plated elements). This classic single strand weighs approximately 35.5 grams (1.25 ounces). Silver will patina over time, revealing highlights with your touch. This process is natural; Use of corrosive solvents or dips is not recommended.
