French retro modernist earrings attributed to Pierre Sterlé.
Exceptional pair of sculptural clip on earrings, created in Paris France back in the 1960. This rare and voluptuous pieces are attributed to the workshop of Pierre Sterle. They was carefully crafted in a bombe shape in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with high polished finish. Fitted with French hinged omega backs for fastening clips and the addition of posts can be easily done.
Gemstones: Mounted with 2 fancy fluted cabochon cuts carved from natural vivid blue Hungarian lapis lazuli.
Birthstone: Lapis Lazuli, for the month of January.
Weight: 51.80 Grams, (33.20 Dwt.).
Measurements: 26 mm by 26 mm by 28 mm (1.02 x 1.02 x 1.10 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped with French marks; the head of the eagle for the assay and warranty of the 18kt gold, the maker's maitre Ste S. inside a lozange cartouche and signed, "MADE IN FRANCE .750 Ste. SGDG 750 Ste S.".
Collateral: They are accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.
