Porcelain Pitcher RS Prussia Antique 1895-1910 Suhl Germany Pattern 59A "Surreal Dogwood".
This beautiful pitcher was produced between 1895 to 1910 by Reinhold Schlegelmilch at the RS Prussia factory in Suhl Germany. It is clearly marked on its base with the red star, wings, and RS Prussia. The pattern is "Surreal Dogwood" Pattern 59A. This delicate fragile and very lovely pitcher is white iridescent with hues of pale lavender, dark purple, pale yellow and cream dogwood blossoms with gold beaded centers on the flowers and raised gold etched stems. The top rim and base is gently fluted and scalloped. The pitcher lip has a gentle one inch curve. This little pitcher is in excellent condition which is amazing considering its very old age.
Prior to 1895 the RS Prussia factory was owned and operated by Reinhold Schlegelmilch in Suhl Germany. During the period between 1895 and 1910 as the RS Prussia exports increased the "RS" and the wings were added and used as the trademark stamp.
Pitcher H 4". W 4". W with handle 5".
