bouncinghigher One of mine is when people mention that the item could be bought on sale or at a cheaper price somewhere and instead of just going there and buying it, they want you to match that price! Only because the color or style is different. 😒 Well now you know why that's cheaper.
Aug 22Reply
bouncinghigher
bouncinghigher And it's not the seller's fault that it was bought at full price or at a higher price that time. Posh allows people to price their items at their own discretion.
Aug 22Reply
amdrea77
amdrea77 @bouncinghigher I agree it's their discretion to set a price, but there are tons of grossly overpriced items on Posh and I don't blame customers for telling the seller if the item is severely overpriced. It might help save someone from getting ripped off. If you can buy at retail for similar price knowing its new, authentic, and fits you, then why haggle to buy on Posh and have to pay shipping? There are those buyers who will be negative no matter what. 😄

bouncinghigher
bouncinghigher @amdrea77 I don't mind being called out on the inappropriately priced item. I think we should all call them out 😉 but I just don't like the lowballers who say that the item could be bought $50 cheaper at this store and telling the seller to match that! Like you said, why go through posh if they can just buy there? 😒 But I agree, there are items that are totally out of their price range. The funny thing is, the person is not even hoping to sell but most likely trade it with a good item!
Aug 22Reply
amdrea77
amdrea77 @bouncinghigher I never thought of that...that they are just hoping to trade! Good point!

bouncinghigher @amdrea77 I know a certain user who "loves to trade" for MK, kate spade, and tiff&co for her overpriced items 😉 too bad for her other users are calling out her BS prices. Lol

jenico93
jenico93 One of my biggest pet peeves on here is when I share items from someone's closet and they comment "Thanks for the share, interested? I'll make a deal!". I don't mind it when I LIKE something, but when I share it its just because I want to share to help out! I had someone today ask me that on a listing and when I said "Just sharing sorry" she said but what about the jeans you shared? After I gave her the same response she then asked, "okay, we'll would you be interested in the top you shared?" GRRRR. THEN she was offended that i wasn't interested! It also bugs me when in share a bunch of items in someone's closet, or like a bunch of items and they tag me in each individual posting saying Thanks for the share or like! Once is enough! End of rant.. Sorry.
Aug 29Reply
bouncinghigher
bouncinghigher @jenico93 I totally understand you! It happened to me just recently. And I thought, well just because I shared it doesn't mean I'm interested. I understand if I liked it and you asked me, but sharing is different! And yeah, multiple times saying thanks for the share could be overwhelming especially if it makes you missed some important comments. -_-

liseaa
liseaa I have to share this...and tell me if I'm being ridiculous. I had a buyer ask me to significantly reduce some ugg boots. I did and sold them to her and a week later she has them in her closet for sale for 5 times what I sold them to her for. That on its own doesn't bug me too much/my stupidity. What got me is that several girls asked her for a discount to about what she bought from me, and her comments back were that she was insulted by their offers. Really?!? I had to comment in her feed. She was representing that she had bought my boots new for top dollar and now selling them and dismissing potential buyers asking for a discount. Am I over reacting? Is this normal on posh? I'm pretty new.
Oct 06Reply
bouncinghigher
bouncinghigher @liseaa okay that's just wrong. I don't mind reselling for a slightly higher price since some people do that here to make money. But dissing the girls is just ridiculous. I understand some low ball offers that just need to stop. But making it appear like she got it for the appropriate price is just plain scamming. 😒
Oct 06Reply
bouncinghigher
bouncinghigher @elleb21 I agree that the more people an item goes through, the less its value from before. I looked up @liseaa closet and I think the girl was selling the item for $100 more. I think that's just ridiculous.
Oct 07Reply
liseaa
liseaa @elleb21 @bouncinghigher ...I get that someone might sell for more and am generally ok with that. This gal, however, asked me for a discount, then turned around and listed them for $120 more than she paid, made her listing sound like she'd bought them new, and then dissed gals that asked her in her listing if she could go lower. It was just weird. Anyhow..live and learn. She took the listing down.
Oct 07Reply
bouncinghigher
bouncinghigher @liseaa yeah I saw that she took down the listing. Gosh that was a good deal. I would so keep instead of selling it. 😒

jessd13
jessd13 Where do I start?! Hahahaha One thing that annoys me the most is when they ask if you could take a certain amount of $, you agree & then they never reply back or purchase the item!!! Waste of my time. Or when they ask you to bundle and hold for a few days and when the time comes they don't purchase! It's so frustrating. Even worse when I ask them if they are still interested or need more time and they don't reply. And I know they ignore me because it clearly shoes they've updated some of their items a few minutes ago! I love sharing other people's closets! A lot! It is annoying when they ask if I'm interested because I'm sharing their items, though. In my head I'm like, "ah, no!" It's irritating! I don't mind if I like an item and they ask if I'm interested, because of course I am! The worst one is when they ask if I want to trade or how much through Paypal. It states in my item's descriptions ❌NO TRADES❌NO PAYPAL❌. Exactly like that. And then when you do look in their closet, there are hardly any items, they aren't my size or the items are in such bad condition!!! Phew. I feel better! LoL

pennymy
pennymy @liseaa I read your story about the Ugg Boots. I'm new to Posh, and have tried to follow the etiquette guidelines, so it is frustrating when others don't. I would be mad of that happened to me, too.

solsticelove
solsticelove My turn. I hate when someone seems really interested in buying an item and they ask you to take a picture of you putting the bag over your shoulder. I did this, then they ask you to take a pic of the invoice. Yep, I did that too. No reply. 2 days later the same girl asked me to do the same shit again. Wear bag and take pic of invoice!! Like are you kidding me?!? Yes @lisaknox, I'm talking about you. Then you don't reply it even say Thankyou. Ughhh! 👹

knikolnolan
knikolnolan I actually just commented on a listing that the price was cheaper somewhere else...I'm guilty! The only reason I did that was because she was trying to rip a poor girl off. She was selling perfume for 60$ when it retails for 30$ at target! I was just trying to help out though.

briewineposh
briewineposh @liseaa The Baily Ugg Boot? bc she's selling them for $125 & I believe she paid $27? 😳😳
Nov 05Reply
liseaa
liseaa @brie309 ..ugh again?!? Well I was stupid when I first got on posh a and sold things too cheap not realizing someone would just turn around and sell for more. My real issue was how she was treating others who wanted the boots for a reasonable price when she'd gotten them for rock bottom.
Nov 05Reply
bouncinghigher
bouncinghigher @brie309 @liseaa will it be too petty of me to comment on her listing?
Nov 05Reply
briewineposh
briewineposh @liseaa I hear ya..I 💕💕💕 giving deep discounts to those I gain a rapport with. It may sound silly to some, but I want my items to be loved by whomever purchases them & I want to feel like they appreciate it. I don't like "cold" people who just say one or two words & that's it. Anyway...was reading this thread & had to see it for myself, then BAM! $125 😳😳😳😳 it's not cool...I'd make a post to warn ppl. Lots of others do that & I appreciate it, as do others.

liseaa @bouncinghigher ...I wouldn't stop you from commenting, but she at least is being more honest that it isn't brand new, she bought it from another posher, etc....I just hope she sells it for more like $65-$70 given what she paid for it
Nov 05Reply

bouncinghigher @lvermeer3 Hi! Please read the thread here with @liseaa . Those UGG boots is not a great deal considering she bought it for $27.
Nov 06Reply

wassermanalison
wassermanalison Out of frustration the other day I finally put up a listing explain posh etiquette. Someone asked me to post a picture and I did and she never responded. I mean just say no thanks! @liseaa Lise - something similar happened to me - I sold a "poor" girl a bundle of jewelry and see she is now selling it separately in her closet for 5x what she paid me. It took everything I had to not comment in the listing and tell everyone who liked it how much she really paid. I figure karma will catch up. I hope so. Thanks for letting me vent!
Jan 08Reply
liseaa
liseaa @wassermanalison ...it's sad to me that people do these things...most of the people I've met on here are straightforward, but there are always a few..I have one other woman that repeatedly I asks questions, low balls,, and doesn't t respond. There is karma though...what goes around does come around eventually.

Jan 09Reply

amdrea77
amdrea77 OMG...coming across a lot of inactive closets...buyers ask questions and five months later no one has answered. Why doesn't Posh clean house once in a while? Just received another shipment of crap that I have to send posh 50 pictures of to prove why I am not satisfied with the order. Ordered a higher end "work out" sweatshirt and both sleeves are stained with bleach. I'm so sick of buyers taking only one picture of items, misrepresenting the condition, being vague in their descriptions, not telling you the brand, not disclosing stains...sometimes I wonder if they go through this stuff in a dark basement because they claim there are no stains but there clearly are. I didn't want to ask every seller if they are a smoker, but so many things reek of smoke it makes me I'll and I don't even care to launder them. Just really disappointed lately in the quality of stuff people are trying to sell. Chances are if they don't want it anymore because of the condition, someone else is not going to want it either. I don't buy rags on here to paint in, I actually expect clothing to be wearable.

atouchoflove
atouchoflove My biggest peeve was, a posher bought a bunch of handmade jewelry and she got a great price for all pieces, then a week later the are listed in her closet as brand new & priced 3 times what she paid me. Plus on 1 certain bracelet she stated she hated to sell this since it was her grandmothers but she really needed the money.....I called her on it and she would delete the listing for awhile. I even contacted some of her buyers that bought the stuff I made and told them the story and a few great Poshers were added to my list of lovely ladies to do business with.

alwtober
alwtober So glad you have a listing for pet peeves and to vent because I need it. 😜 And I've learned some things from others' comments here. I actually did a search for "pet peeves" so I could get this out. LOL My biggest pet peeve is people using ⓟⓟ because they don't like the fees and/or shipping costs on Poshmark. If you don't like the Rules and fees you should sell your stuff elsewhere. I don't see anything wrong with people listing their items on more than one app, but, think they should sell on whatever site the item was found on instead of directing the person to another site or ⓟⓟ to avoid fees. It's gotten to the point where people put at the top of their closet that they accept ⓟⓟ or that you can find them listed under a particular username on another site. It's so blatant, and I'm not sure why Poshmark doesn't find these people (which shouldn't be hard to do since they have most likely been reported) and delete their closet or at least give them a warning. I find it especially disturbing when the people that are doing this are "suggested users", have lots of "host picks", and are hosts or co-hosts of parties. These are the users we are supposed to trust and should be held to the same if not a higher standard than other Poshers. While I'm ranting, also, when people sell their items and go through ⓟⓟ or somewhere else they should delete that item from Poshmark or at the very least use the "not for sale" option on Poshmark since it will not be marked "Sold" unless the transaction goes through Poshmark. So when I search for an "available" item to buy, I always come across items that were sold on ⓟⓟ already. Makes my search harder and takes more time. I also can't stand the fact that there are people on the site for the sole purpose of trying to scam people out of their money, items or to hack them. I have seen from the other comments here and under other listings that people have gotten very "creative" in the ways they can scam you. SMH Always research someone you are considering buying from and if you have been scammed by a user make it known so others can avoid the same experience. Thanks for reading what turned out to be a longer comment than I thought it would be and to @bouncinghigher for the listing to let us vent and also get some good information from other commenters. Happy Poshing to all! 🎀👛👗👠💍🎀

alwtober
alwtober Sorry to post again but I can't help but mentioning this one. This site is for women's clothing shoes and accessories. I can't stand it when someone's closet is all or mostly children's or men's clothing. I have a ton of girls clothes to sell. And, will find a site to sell them on. But Poshmark is not the site for children's clothing. And I'm still coming across listings every day that are still listed as available but have been sold through 🅿🅿. I know they won't be marked sold since they don't make the transaction on Poshmark, but, they can at least mark them not available. Also, unfortunately you shouldn't have to but, if you are following Posh rules and not accepting 🅿🅿it's good to list it in your closet profile so it shows at the top. Unfortunately, I have not followed some people that are following me because I don't have time to go through the closet to see if they're accepting 🅿🅿or following Posh rules. Don't even get me started on the scammers and people who otherwise take advantage on the site . Some people have no morals. My best advice to anyone new or otherwise on the site is do not give out your email address. Other than that, research your seller. Thanks again for giving us a place to vent and put our pet peeves. 🎀💞🎀

amdrea77 I just sold a pair of brand new Nike's to a young girl claiming to be addicted to Nike's for $40-50 less than current retail price I paid. She bought Dec. 2nd and I shipped Dec. 6th (the weekend). I acknowledged and thanked her for her purchase and updated her as soon as it shipped. Generally I like to ship faster than that but it was mid week and my kids have sports, etc. So Have always had a perfect rating of 5.0 for around 45 items and she gave me a rating of 3.0 and said "shipping time could have been improved." When I rate something I base it on the quality of the product, unless it took a ridiculously long time to ship. Doesn't Posh give us a week to ship? If the girl had an issue with mailing time, she could have commented up front so I could have mailed it sooner. How rude! 😟

sarar54
sarar54 I have had a couple of people haggle me way down on price, then give the item a one star rating only to find that the item is now for sale in their closet, with my pictures, and described as NWT or in excellent condition. If people want to buy to resell okay I guess but this just seems rude to me. And asking to go off site to sell something. Hate it. Hate being asked multiple times in the comments by different users. Trades. If I want something you have, I'll buy it. I like this site and prefer not to break the rules. I find a lot of the suggested users to be pretty questionable in this regard. Asking me to hold something. I usually end up doing it, but more often than not the person never comes back to purchase. Negotiating in the comments. There is an offer feature now, use it! Whew, that felt good!😄

littletownposh LOW BALLING!!! My biggest pet peeve on posh! When you have an item listed and someone tries to ask if you'll take less than half of what it's listed at... It's like a slap in the face!!! And maybe not so much of a pet peeve, but I don't understand the big problem some people have with trading. I love trading on posh, and as long as it's done through posh for shipping and tracking purposes I see no problem as long as it's for items of equal value. Maybe I just haven't had a bad experience with it 🙈 idk, just feel like I always get really great deals trading. I get something new, and get rid of something I was trying to sell anyway and so does the other trader 😊

momoretro Thanks for doing this! I just had my third experience of buying something and being told "it's in storage" or "I just moved and can't find it right now"....3 times! 3 different sellers! Twice we cancelled the sale and they told me they'd let me know when ready to sell again and they never did.

libraemporium @alissaleist how do you trade through posh? I don't want to be a rule breaker but it's pretty vague on what they allow regarding this. And I literally am very ill and poor so it's really the only way I could get anything for myself once in a while. I just don't want to get kicked off or anything. I haven't ever traded but for those items I'm in love with and couldn't otherwise afford I would like the option.

Even after I check to see when the buyer was last online and notice they've been online. I send a friendly "I see you've received your order ! I hope you like it" as a hint that it meds accepted!!
