sassafras19
sassafras19 Yes, unfortunately. Some think this is a garage sale, some think eBay, some even Salvation Army, I think. You've got to keep yourself above it all and that's why scrolling closets is the only right way to see if that closet is compliant. It will keep you with the right people that can help you. I read your message and thank you! I only want to see you succeed and I know I was overwhelmed at first. I see you have been given some, shall we say, tutorials that I think iI can clarify for you.

sassafras19 Sharing: when you share MY item, it goes to YOUR news feed where YOUR followers are. Simply put, you're showing my closet to your friends. When I share YOUR items I'm showing them to MY friends. Basically like show and tell. Your news feed and all the people you see on it are people you're following or people who are following you. The more followers, the bigger audience you have and more people to help share your items. Questions?

sassafras19 Editing: Once you have made your listing and hit the List button, that item automatically goes to your news feed. Not to any one individually. While listing, if you're not ready to commit to listing then you can change the status to Not For Sale on the status button at the bottom of the listing. Puts it in limbo and you can always go back and edit. Once listed, you can go to My Closet on your profile page. Click on the listing you want to edit. The Edit button is then on the top
Jul 22Reply
sassafras19
sassafras19 Right of your page. Once in edit mode you can do anything you want to on that listing. Reword, retitle, change a price, correct grammar, change a photo, etc. once you're satisfied then it will prompt you to list it again as when you originally did it. The only things that cannot be edited are Sold items. Once sold, they're untouchable. You can completely delete a listing if you like and relist later.

sassafras19
sassafras19 Changing your closet Everything is backwards. The first thing you list will be at the bottom of your page. Your last listing will appear first. It's a lot of rearranging to keep your sold items at the bottom. Once you sell an item, click the share button..it will go to your feed but so does everyone's, and it will automatically go to the bottom of your page. Then simply share your last active listing and your solds will stay where they are. When sharing your own closet, share the same way.
Jul 22Reply
sassafras19
sassafras19 You can rearrange your listings just to keep it fresh. You can even go into edit and do,nothing but delete a period then add it back in order to make that listing become your first again.
Jul 22Reply
sassafras19
sassafras19 @gypsystylin If you want to have tags such as TOPS, DRESSES, etc, put your tops listings in THEN put in your meme TOPS posting. Again, everything here is backwards.

spalalaboutique
spalalaboutique I emailed poshmark and skincare and nail polish do not fall under the category of health and wellness and they are not prohibited. I had asked many mentors who could not say where it said that. They fall under the category of makeup.
Jul 31Reply
sassafras19
sassafras19 @fairlygirly Don't know where this came from but would you care to address?
Jul 31Reply
fairlygirly
fairlygirly Yeah, nail polish is absolutely prohibited because it contains alcohol and is flammable. All Posh sales are shipped via USPS Priority mail, which is shipped by air. USPS strictly forbids nail polish and perfume. It's a crime to ship those materials by Priority mail. Not only is skincare not allowed, but makeup setting sprays are also not allowed. Liquid makeup like foundation and lip gloss are pretty much the only liquids allowed.
Jul 31Reply
fairlygirly
fairlygirly @skincaregoddess I have multiple emails directly from Posh support that clearly state that skincare is not allowed. It is not makeup. If you go to my closet, I have screen shots of those emails on my Prohibited Items list, you're welcome to email them yourself.
Jul 31Reply
spalalaboutique
spalalaboutique I did email myself. They said that skincare and nail polish do not fall under the category of Heath and wellness. Nor is it listed under the other prohibited items. I spoke to a suggested user last night and also a posh mentor who sells skin care and nail polish and she said the same thing. I'm just trying to find out the facts.
Jul 31Reply
fairlygirly
fairlygirly If you email and ask if skincare is allowed to be sold, you'll get the same response I did. It is not allowed. Nail polish cannot be allowed unless Posh ships by some method other than USPS Priority. Take a priority package to the post office, tell them it contains nail polish, and they won't allow you to ship it.

fairlygirly
fairlygirly @skincaregoddess (forgot to tag you on the comment above as well) I've been emailing back and forth with Posh about these things for over six months now. I had sold a Mac Fix + and when I became an SU, they removed it from my closet because it isn't allowed.
Jul 31Reply
spalalaboutique
spalalaboutique And what is a Mac su?
Jul 31Reply
fairlygirly
fairlygirly @skincaregoddess I'm not sure what you mean... MAC is a makeup company, they sell a setting spray called Fix+, I am an SU, which means Suggested User, which is a sort of brand ambassador on Poshmark.
Jul 31Reply
spalalaboutique
spalalaboutique @fairlygirly yes I figured out the Mac comment after I posted sorry. Lol

I emailed support the other day about all this unsupported nonsense. She assured me that it was being handled but it's just so many.

itskaitlee
itskaitlee Hey babe! Do you know if address books are permitted items? I have a beautiful one but want to stay Posh compliant and don't want to list it until I'm sure? I feel like agenda and address book are similar enough that it would be allowed but am just not sure! Gonna keep researching but any helpful info from you would be awesome! Thanks so much love! 💁🏻💕✨🎀💖
Oct 23Reply
sassafras19
sassafras19 @itskaitlee Hi doll! Great question! I would say yes, they're as much like agendas or journals as you can get. You might put in your title Agenda/Address book and then delve a little deeper in the description. Hope that helps! Keep those questions comin!

goforit13 @sassafras19 so glad I'm seeing this!! I've never been able to figure all.of this out! I love when people have their closet seperated under TOPS, SHOES, etc.. Why so confusing?? Lol
Jan 25Reply
sassafras19
sassafras19 @goforit13 It can be! Work backwards! The first thing you share will be the last item in your closet. The last item will be the first. If you have your sold items at the bottom of your closet then start what you want to share at that first sold listing. That way you don't have to share sold items! If I can help just let me know! Glad this helped out!

pattycats2
pattycats2 I see so much stuff that isn't allowed and some of it is "boutique" items so I'm confused. I thought boutique items are things you buy through postmark. So I don't know what is and isn't allowed. I did see some really nasty eye pallets that I reported. They were even listed NWT . Not only is that tacky it's unsanitary as heck. It's like selling a used toothbrush.! Yuck!
Feb 03Reply
sassafras19
sassafras19 @pattycats2 Yep, I'm with you on that one! It's unfortunate but simply selling as a "boutique" doesn't allow you to be noncompliant. These are THE people who should be sure to be above board and compliant. I guess the question here is should you do the right thing? OR should you load your closet with home decor, used makeup, perfume, toys, cars (yes, really), used bikinis, holiday decorations, etc? Posh on compliantly, sister! What goes around comes around...eventually.

wyndchasrborzoi
wyndchasrborzoi May I post this in my cliset? I see so many prohibited items...it may help if this is seen more often.
Feb 15Reply
sassafras19
sassafras19 @wyndchasrborzoi Hi! Of course! I only ask that you credit @fairlygirly for her time, patience and due diligence as this was not an easy venture! Hope it works for you! Don't be surprised to see these items anyways. DO NOT approach the seller, you will only accomplish giving yourself a pounding headache. Simply report the item as inappropriate or replica, etc then report the seller. That's the best you can do. Then, move on!
Feb 15Reply
sassafras19
sassafras19 @wyndchasrborzoi Do you know how to report? In listings there is a box with an upward facing arrow. Click then click report then click inappropriate item, replica, etc, then move along. The same button and premise is done for the seller but you cannot report if you're in one of her listings. You just have to be in their open closet and the prompts will be the same. You also have the option to block, meaning she cannot access your closet.
Feb 15Reply
wyndchasrborzoi
wyndchasrborzoi @sassafras19 thank you so much! I was wondering how to block, as I have seem N a couple scammer reports, too! Really appreciate your information. When reporting someone, do they know who reported them?
Feb 15Reply
sassafras19
sassafras19 @wyndchasrborzoi No, it's done anonymously. You can spend an entire day reporting people, I'm serious! You just have to pick your battles. One bad item? May overlook. 4,5,6 and I'm reporting. I also do not intentionally follow. Sometimes in the follow games you'll follow them inadvertently but you'll eventually find them. More than that I don't report the items I just report the seller..twice!
Feb 15Reply
sassafras19
sassafras19 @wyndchasrborzoi Blocking. I do with reluctance. I block people with an entire closet of contraband, I.e.luggage, mistagged items, someone who asks you to do an offline transaction (NO!!!!!!!) , use an alternate payment method. Negates any Posh assistance. I block rude, crude and negative people, those who aren't compliant and any harassment. You can un-block as well. Hope this has helped.
Feb 15Reply
wyndchasrborzoi
wyndchasrborzoi @sassafras19 thank you so much for all of your helpful information! It truly did help and put things into perspective. I have no desire to become a Posh Police, but I have seen entire closets of nail polish, and many hair straighteners, arts, crafts, pets (is there a different consignment site that caters to pets?) 💕
Feb 15Reply
sassafras19
sassafras19 @wyndchasrborzoi HA HA! No, not that I'm aware of! Although I did get tagged a few days ago to a closet that was nothing BUT animal treats and toys! There's a group of us with a rather off kilter view of life and we find odd things pretty funny. Sorry. danbran2 Use the @ before it. If I did it he would see our conversation. I don't know why it's so difficult for some people to read and comply with rules!
Feb 15Reply
wyndchasrborzoi
wyndchasrborzoi @sassafras19 Funny! I just looked and it appears to be mostly clothes and more compliant items now (though I didn't view the whole closet). However - (here's to your humor!!) this was the first item that showed up: NIP,Butane Can topper Flame Gun . Does the post office ship something like THAT? LOL Thanks for the info. You've been most helpful!
Feb 15Reply
sassafras19
sassafras19 @wyndchasrborzoi Yeah....ummm, NO! That's why we can't mail perfume and fingernail polish. Posh has a contract with USPS to fly all our packages Priority Mail on unpressurized cargo planes. That explains the shipping cost. The other is there are no flammables...lotions, potions, etc as they can combust under pressure. Lots of people want to argue that point but the first time you take it to the PO they'll ask you those questions.

sassafras19
sassafras19 @mrskathleen How nice, thank you! Welcome to Poshmark! It's best to learn how to do things the right way the first time rather than after the fact. Compliance is easy. If it's something you'd sell at a yard sale...then have one! You want to stay above the fray and be proud to share your closet. It will also help with gaining followers, sharing, eligibility for host picks and parties. Just that simple! There are a lot of nuances specific to Posh. If I can help, please ask away! 🤗
