An oval-shaped glazed chinaware bottle with an auspicious "peaches and buts" pattern made in Qing Dynasty was handed
to Shanghai Museum as a donation on Feb 14, 2004.
Dr. Zhang Yongzhen from Hong Kong bought this ancient bottle for HKS 41,50 million at an international auction in 2002 and decided to return this precious relic back to China to end its fate as foreigners" possession.
Specialists say that this bottle made during that specific time period is the culmination of chinaware manuläcturing techniques in Oing Dynasty. The eight peaches and two bats on the bottle are believed is a sign of luck.
