Mexican Bola is a chime ball that was first worn by pregnant women in Mexico who learned through generations of motherhood that the soothing sound of the Mexican Bola against the mother's tummy had a calming effect on their babies before and after birth.
Mexican Bola
• Mexican Chime Pendant for Expectant Mother & Baby
• Approximate Size: 2" (measured from the bail to the bottom of the pendant)
• Gold plated with a bright finish over metal alloys.
• The pendant opens with a latch on the side to place the “bola chime” and then locks back to keep it in place.
• The ‘bola chime ball’ can be anything you want -- a stone, feather, coin, sponge, or anything that creates a soft sound. You can even include essential oils. Be creative!
Approximately 16-20 weeks into the pregnancy the unborn baby will begin to recognize sound and can hear the soft sound coming from the bola ball. The soft sound is said to soothe the unborn baby and can even have calming benefits for the mother.
Mothers wear the Bola on a long necklace, chain, or cord so that the pendant ball rests on the mother’s abdomen. With movement, the Bola emits a soothing sound. A sweet familiar tinkle sound for your baby – recognized both before and after birth.
