@kbrue so there is nothing hard to slim the tummy but there is a black cloth material. I'm not sure if that material is to slim the tummy area since it's pretty thin material and not hard elastic material that is used in some products for tucking in tummies... I hope that helps.

@kbrue I think it definitely slims my tummy. I have the extra skin or fat from being pregnant. The reason why I'm not keeping it is because I also have stretch marks and my kids sometimes lift up my swimsuit when they're trying to grab me.
