jmmistretta @zahn_m i dont think they are specifically intended to be; but they do go up to/over my bellybutton if that helps lol. they fit similar to under armour cold gear leggings when it comes to how high they go. so definitely goes over the waist but if you're looking for high waisted in means of compressing the entire mid section like most "high waisted" leggings do these days, they dont necessarily do that. I hope that makes sense...

jmmistretta @cmcelroy88 they fit similar to underarmour cold gear leggings if that helps ( so slightly more compressive than regular due to thicker seams but that is all. ) does that help?

jmmistretta @cmcelroy88 I understand. if you are a true medium, it is up to you for the risk, but they are slightly more compressive than a regular small underarmour legging. i am between sizes ( when it comes to medium/small) but the smalls typically fit better. I'm a 5/7 in jeans and more specifically have a 27.5in waist, 35hip, 37.5 glutes and 21.5 around a thigh. These in small fit me well. I hope that info helps ease your decision.
