State of Origin… it all began with Queensland Rugby League president Senator Ron McAuliffe's mission to convince New South Wales to allow Queensland-born players to 'come home' and wear the Queensland Maroons jersey. Since the first Origin game in 1980, 230 players have donned the jersey and made the state proud.
