Very RARE 1940’s Signed Reja Brooch
The brooch features a flower with clear rhinestones set in the center. Two seed bead style pearls and small rhinestones set in each of the small blue flowers. NOTE there is one small rhinestone missing from the blue flower and some light wear to the enamel. Normal for a piece of this age and not noticeable unless looking up close
Heavy weight and beautiful construction signed Reja on back of brooch
The company founded by the jewelry designer Solomon Finkelstein in 1932 in NYC. In 1939 Finkelstein decided to manufacture jewelry for retail trade under the names Deja Deja Reg Deja Originap and Deja Fleurs
In January 1941 the Supreme Court made them change their name to Reja. All pieces were made mostly by hand in small batches and only for sale at retail. Therefore so little jewelry of the brand have survived. Unfortunately a short but colorful history of Reja brand ended in 1953 leaving us to remember Reja jewelry masterpieces
