This gorgeous rare antique Royal Doulton Holbein Glaze Woodland Haystacks D2538 Pattern Serving Bowl was made in England in 1906. Around the turn of the 20th Century, there was an exciting introduction at Doulton’s Burslem studios. Called the Holbein Glaze, it was the brainchildren of the famous Charles Noke. Holbein ware is a typical example of Noke’s experimentation with glazes. Holbein wares give the impression of the old masters through the use of yellow and brown on porcelain. This gives a crackled look, as seen in these photos. This ruffled-edged bowl is In beautiful antique condition. 9-1/2 inches round.
