From Cruz Blanca, Guatemala. 38" wide x 45 long. Natural indigo-dyed cotton base. All colours of brocade are cotton except the hot pink which is acrylic blend. Made in 1960s. Every row is a register of stylized Mayan sacred animals --deer, birds, jaguars, in brilliant colors. Can be mounted as wall hanging or used as a dramatic throw. It is made in 2 pieces stitched together down the center. Excellent condition. It was originally mounted as a large framed wall hanging which I couldn't carry so I had them cut the textile off the canvas, so there are several small white tags on the back from when it was attached. They can be removed. I just didn't dare to do it. See last pic. The last 3 photos are the reverse side which is equally exquisite.
