RARE HAEGER POTTERY VASE 1969 COMMEMORATING MAN'S FIRST LANDING ON MOON DESCRIPTION Rare Haeger Pottery Vase 1969 Commemorating Man's First Landing on Moon & Button A rare find for collectors, decorators, school rooms, etc You are bidding on a RARE VINTAGE 1969 HAEGER POTTERY VASE NO. 4116 COMMEMORATING "MAN'S FIRST LANDING ON THE MOON" DESIGNED BY HAEGER POTTERY'S CHIEF DESIGNER, ERIC OLSON. Eric Olson was born in Norway and came to Haeger Pottery in 1947 after the 2nd World War. He was their Chief Designer until he retired in 1972. Haeger Pottery started as a brickyard in Dundee, Illinois near Chicago, in 1871. It didn't start producing Pottery Artware until about 1914. Haeger Pottery is still in production today. This particular piece of Art Pottery has an oval cylindrical shape. On the front it reads: "COMMEMORATING MAN'S FIRST LANDING ON THE MOON"; "JULY 20, 1969"; "BY ASTRONAUTS ARMSTRONG AND ALDRIN" and "NAVIGATED BY COLLINS". On the bottom it reads: "HAEGER 4116(C)"; "DESIGN - ERIC OLSON"; "1969" and "U.S.A.". On the front in relief is a "spread winged Eagle". On the back in relief is the "Earth, Moon, Planets, Apollo spacecraft and the path" they took to the moon and back. The vase is gold matte. This is probably a Rare piece with Historical value. DIMENSIONS Measures about 9 13/16" tall by about 5" wide and about 3 7/8" deep near the base CONDITION Excellent shape. No chips, cracks, crazing
