This is Schlumberga Buckleyi, the Rare True Christmas Cactus is a very hard to find, and highly sought after variety. Her mother plant dates back to the late 1800’s according to the last owner. Today, most if not all holiday cacti commercially marketed during the Fall and Winter in greenhouses and garden centers everywhere are improperly labeled “Christmas Cactus” but are most likely the common “Thanksgiving Cactus”. The distinct upside down Christmas Tree shape of the clade (segment) is the identifier of a True Christmas Cactus, which are not mass produced any longer for retail. Detailed Instructions on propagation and care will accompany these fresh clippings. You will receive 4-6 stems (clippings) based on availability at the time of your order. This rare beauty born from the Rain Forests of the Brazil region is now in limited supply. She WILL go fast. The recent price change is reflective of that.

@ravendog2016 hi there. These are fresh clippings and not yet rooted. I’ve shipped to other areas that are cold climates and so far so good. I rate extra care in packaging so I would anticipate that the clippings arrive in good condition. Of course, there are no guarantees such as if the Postal Service should delay in delivery or should they happen to stay outdoors for more time than normal shipping times. Anything is possible w live products so its a guessing game at any season really.

@gypsysasha as described in my listing, there are anywhere from 4-6 stems (clippings) in one order. The mother plant is very healthy and I have enough left to fill another 3-4 orders. I would estimate your order to arrive in 3-5 business days. This is the true Christmas cactus. Very hard to find nowadays as the Thanksgiving cactus is commonly grown in todays wholesale greenhouses.

Do you know if this is a schlumbergera buckleyi or schlumbergera bridgesii ? I think both are the more rare type of Christmas cactus.

@babysadie2011 the cuttings are not rooted most of the time unless I happen to have some that I’ve rooted for my own use which I am willing to
Ship depending upon availability. But mostly I ship unrooted clades which I’ve cut far enough in advance that they’ve “calloused” on the root end and ready to be rooted. But yes, I have a new mother plant that’s now healthy enough to harvest cuttings now. So feel
Free to go ahead and order!
