ROMAN GOLD ROYAL CHINA 22 KARAT HANDPAINTED FLORAL CHINA SERVING PLATTER Pattern: Roman Gold (but has a floral handpainted motif, not figures) Company: Royal China Era: pre-1940s Oblong/rounded rectancular serving platter (maybe a fish platter? has a central depression/lower area) 22 Karat gold encrusted porcelain with burgundy banding and floral hand-painted "French Decoration" 12.5" long x 8" wide x 1" deep. COLLECTOR'S NOTE: This set is part of an enormous 12+ place setting collection in this pattern that I am auctioning off over the next few weeks (please see the final 2 images above for a view of the entire set - the entire set NOT included in this listing). The known history is as follows: My grandparents purchased a house in Pacific Palisades in the early 1940s completely furnished by an interior decorator - they bought everything in the house, down to the linens, china, silverware, artwork, etc. This set was included and, as far as I know/remember, was rarely (if ever) used.
