ROYAL TARA CHINA Shamrock Choirboy / Galway Ireland / 5.5 Inches / Great Gift

The Royal Tara brand of fine bone china originated in Belleek, Ireland in the late 1940s. The brand was named after the Hill of Tara, an ancient site in Ireland that was once the seat of the High Kings of Ireland. Due to the financial strains of foreign competition, after over 50 years in business Royal Tara closed its factory in 2003. Royal Tara China was not only renowned in Ireland, but was also exported to countries including Canada and the United States. This is a charming choirboy singing a song from the book he is holding. His pure white robes are decorated with trailing shamrocks around the bottom and are accented with gold trim. The fine bone china figurine measures 5.5 inches tall and is in excellent condition with no chip or cracks.
