In 1950 After Six debuted the industry’s first celebrity endorsement with a tuxedo named for actor and singer Tony Martin. After the endorsement After Six rented & sold more Tuxedos than anyone in the industry could have ever forecasted. In 1995 After Six then came under new ownership of a conglomerate called Sequa Group (which also owned longtime After Six competitor, Raffinati) Who still owns Raffinati Line today. The practice of renting formal attire actually dates back to the 1880s.
