💙Fluorite, also called fluorspar, is a mineral made up of calcium and fluoride or calcium fluoride. It can come in every single color on the color spectrum. Fluorite dates back at least to the 1500s and has many industrial uses. Its crystals are cubic shaped. 💙Fluorite is deposited in veins by hydrothermal processes. In these rocks it often occurs as a gangue mineral associated with metallic ores. Fluorite is also found in the fractures and cavities of some limestones and dolomites.
