Ralph Lauren 2011 Sample Kristina Acid Wash Stretch Denim Strapless Dress

Sweet limited sample, never produced Collection Denim Kristina dress in Camille acid/bleach wash. Strapless, 2 non functioning chest button flap pockets, white powder coated button close, zigzag button placket, unlined, stretch cotton. As best as I can tell from the sample tag, this was designed in late 2011, for Spring 2012, but was never realized. The closest I see to this fabric came later in 2018, although not in this particular dress. It was inspired by the Cap d'Antibes, Mediterranean, South of France, and between land and sea, in red, white, and blue with playful denim washes, and similar pocket details. It conveyed the splashy glamour of the French Riviera, a destination that’s long been popular with the rich and famous—Coco Chanel had a holiday home there. Gently worn, lovely intentional nuance to the fabric, blue, white, and vanilla tones throughout. A small mark on one pocket, as pictured. Size and fabric tag removed.
