These ade also known as "stirrup boots" so you can wear them riding.They are about 16" from the bottom of the heel to the top; the widest part for the calf is 7" across. I have also worn them only once. It was silly of me to buy them because I left Canada where we had to wear boots for 9 months of the year. I am in Texas and they wear their cowboy boots when it is 96 degrees! Not me.
