aliced5 I am also 5'7" and sits at waist comfortably: front 20" from shoulder, with back almost 2" longer , arm holes are 9" so comfy w bulky tops. I have never worn petites, but this fit me very well. And usually I get XL jackets/vests/tops, but this L size was fine.
