haber_dashing @yvesozoude Actually, they are absolutely Purple Label. When you see “Ralph Lauren” that is the designer label, hence the Purple Label. When you “Polo Ralph Lauren” that is the blue label. Feel free to contact the company and ask them what label the Ralph Lauren Gittens shoe is under.

awdiwdw @haber_dashing I own quite a bit of purple label and the price point is different. Also the bottom of the shoe has a different branding. Not a dig at you. Just informing you on something I’m quite knowledgeable about. I wanted to see the actual shoe to confirm my suspicion. It’s a great shoe though.

awdiwdw @haber_dashing I did check and I do check. The Gittens shoe is under Ralph Lauren Collection. That’s not Purple Label. Also the price point would start at $1100-$1200 for Purple Label.

haber_dashing @yvesozoude These are the shoes that you get when you go the RL website and purchase “Purple Label” shoes. Go to the website now and see Purple Label shoes ranging from $650-$1,850. Even the $1,850 shoe don’t say “Purple Label” on the shoe. You will only see Ralph Lauren. I needed someone to explain this to me many years ago. 1. Purple Label 2. RRL. 3. Polo Ralph Lauren 4. Lauren Ralph Lauren (budget suits at Macy’s). Gittens shoe is under category 1, Ralph Lauren = Purple Label

awdiwdw @haber_dashing I’m aware that purple label shoes don’t say purple label. They do however say purple label in script. Also that shoe is Ralph Lauren collection. You can look it up. It isn’t purple label. I bought the purple label version of that shoe. Aside from price, the purple label shoes have a different construction. I’m aware of all of the prestige tiers. I’ve been doing this a very long time. But hey agree to disagree.

haber_dashing @yvesozoude this may be my last post about all this. Here goes: I just called Ralph Lauren at 888 475 7674 and verified that it is a Purple Label item. I’ve been wrong many times in my life, but this is not one of those times. Feel free to call them yourself. Or, we can remain disagreed. Cheers!

awdiwdw @haber_dashing I just called that same number. They agreed with me wholeheartedly on every point. For that shoe, a leather cap toe Oxford to be purple label you’d be paying $1100+ retail. Also ALL purple label shoes have script branding on the insole and bottom of the shoe. Your shoes are Ralph Lauren COLLECTION. I You can google the model. You’re the only reason purple label even comes up. Another thing. The heel reinforcement on the back of your shoe isn’t consistent with purple label.

awdiwdw @haber_ . It is a nice shoe and for the sake of transparency and selling accurately you should list it accurately as it is RL Collection. The branding on the sole is a dead giveaway. Also the price tag on the sole is a bigger giveaway. That caliber of shoe in the Purple label brand would NEVER be that inexpensive. I have NEVER been wrong about this brand. I’m giving you sound advice. I appreciate the back and forth. Keeps me sharp as I’m particularly passionate about Ralph Lauren.
