While typically an XL in Ralph Lauren is a true American ample size XL, this pea coat allows for a bigger chest and broad shoulders, yet the waist is a bit more fitted like a size L (if you want to be able to button all the buttons). It shows off a more fit physique in the sense it’s not big and boxy all over like most pea coats and provides a truly tailored bespoke fit. I wear a size L in most RL shirts and jackets due to broad shoulders and chest and this fits me perfectly.
