Matching pants? I see a tag that says 36W but I dont see the pants. If so, have they been latered/tailored? Are the pants pleated?

I just made an offer; I have the exact same suit and I never wear it (wrong size) it is a 40 R; Can your husband fit a 40R; the jacket is unaltered and it's a 40R; I altered the pants 36 X 30; but I really only need the jacket.
