housebb @thatgirlnyc Honestly, I cannot tell. Fully lined, but actual velvet has a silky back. It seems to pull in an X shape as you would expect for bias, but cannot see weave to confirm. In any even, generous at bust and flares from there. Cannot really see because of drape, but it does not even need back or side zip at waist due to cut. Added measurements above.

thatgirlnyc @housebb Thank you! Velvet's difficult to gauge that way, true. Was trying to get a feel for the shaping, whether it draped in a quasi-mermaid fashion, or whether it hung straight. I have some curves to address!

housebb @thatgirlnyc This can definitely handle the curves. I'm big rib cage (38), no identifiable waist, size six hips. Despite tons of fabric at the hips, is seems to hang enough to give the impression of curves at the waist and yet not look too big at hips. Guessing it is bias cut based on that description. Love bias. Too bad it is disappearing due to expense of extra fabric from cut!

thatgirlnyc @housebb yes--the J. Peterman's adorbs! Well you are my compliment: I have a small rib cage with 32DDs,, 30" waist, and 40" hips--and 5'10" tall. So I measure and ponder a lot!
