This very hard-to-find art deco Monmouth pitcher is in excellent pre-owned condition. It was originally produced in the 1930s. The Monmouth Pottery company was founded in 1892 in Monmouth, IL. It was purchased in 1906 by the Western Pottery Co. Monmouth became their ‘Artware Division.’
The Monmouth mark, a maple leaf, was used until 1930. After 1930, a paper label was sometimes used, as in the case of this pitcher. Later pieces are unmarked. The pitcher stands 6" tall and measures 8" handle-to-spout. Features a stunning yellow color. On the bottom, you can still find the rare paper label that gives the original style no. - #381. Paper labels are often missing on vintage and antique pieces like this, making them much harder to find and identify.
In Very Good to Excellent Pre-Owned Condition, free of chips, cracks, or crazing, though there is a little discoloration in the glaze after almost 100 years that you probably won't even notice at first.
