Very hard to find Portmeirion dinner plate. Probably a prototype (read below).Co-author Stephen P. McKay of the book Portmeirion Pottery reached out to query this Portmeirion piece and explained the artist was Zoe Wilson, one of the "Longton Ladies" who had a studio in the old SylvaC Factory (founded 1894). Stephen explained the painting style was a reproduction of the traditional Welsh Llanelliware and that this piece may be a unique 'trial' to be submitted to a customer.... probably Pugh Brothers in Llanelli. (Pugh Brothers was a department store in Wales from 1894-2005).
Add a touch of retro charm to your dinnerware collection with this extremely rare Portmeirion Rooster Dinner Plate. The animated bird pattern in purple hues adds a fun and kitschy element to your table setting, perfect for all occasions. Handpainted in Great Britain, this original piece is a collector's item from the late 20th century.
Crafted from fine porcelain with a glossy finish, this 10.5-inch round plate features a painted backstamp and is machine washable up to 140°F (although I'd recommend hand washing, personally). this plate is ideal for serving your favourite dishes. Whether you're a collector, nature lover or a cartoon enthusiast, this plate is sure to impress.
