jerseydave5 just wanted to drop in and say that I own these red boots in another size and they're tough as nails. The leather was so thick when I got them that they were actually difficult to get on and off due to the ankle. I believe Red Wing decided against making chelseas so thick again, which was a mistake, because once you've broken them in, you feel like nothing's getting through.

jerseydave5 bonus points: they shine up *really* well, and even though they're work boots to an extent, people are constantly mistaking them for dress boots (though, imo, their toe box is a little too generous for that). They probably get the most wear out of any of my shoes. They are incredibly versatile. Buy these boots.

mrfrankblack @jerseydave5 Thanks for the input! They're still difficult to put on and off due to the leather thickness & ankle elastic. Boot color and shape make them very versatile, as you say. I would absolutely keep them if my foot injury prevents me from wearing them anymore.
